Diamond
The 4Cs (Carat, Cut, Color, Clarity) - the priorities and Witty Diamond's standard
COLOR
❈❈ D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K......Z ❈❈
Diamond color is a crucial aspect of assessing a diamond’s quality and overall appearance. It refers to the presence or absence of color within a diamond, specifically the degree of colorlessness.
Colorless diamonds allow more light to pass through, creating more brilliance and fire. As you move down the color scale, the diamond may appear less brilliant and have a warmer hue.
Witty Diamonds offers you only diamonds of color D&E, the highest grading of colorless. They appear clear and pure, and are considered the most valuable due to their rarity.
CUT
❈❈ Ideal, Excellent, Very good, Good, Fair, Poor ❈❈
The cut of a diamond refers to how well it has been shaped and faceted, affecting its ability to reflect light and produce brilliance, fire, and scintillation. Diamond cut is often considered the most important of the Four Cs because it directly affects a diamond’s sparkle and beauty.
Key Aspects of Diamond Cut:
Proportions: The diamond’s proportions, including the depth, table size, and angles, play a crucial role in how light interacts with the diamond. Ideal proportions allow for maximum light return and dispersion.
Symmetry: Symmetry refers to the precision of the diamond’s facets and their alignment. Good symmetry ensures that light is reflected evenly, creating a balanced sparkle.
Polish: Diamond polish refers to the smoothness and quality of the diamond’s surface. A high-quality polish eliminates surface imperfections and enhances the diamond’s brilliance.
Facet Alignment: The arrangement and alignment of facets impact the diamond’s ability to reflect and refract light. Properly aligned facets maximize the diamond’s brilliance.
Witty Diamonds offers you only diamonds of Ideal and Excellent cut, they exhibit maximum brightness, fire, and scintillation.
CLARITY
❈❈ FL, IF, VVS1, VVS2, VS1, VS2, SI1,SI2, I1, I2, I3 ❈❈
Diamond’s clarity refers to the presence of internal and external imperfections, known as inclusions and blemishes, respectively.
Flawless (FL): These diamonds have no internal or external flaws or inclusions visible under 10x magnification.
Internally Flawless (IF): IF diamonds have no internal flaws, though they may have minor surface blemishes that are extremely difficult to detect under 10x magnification.
Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS1 and VVS2): These diamonds have minute inclusions that are extremely difficult to detect under 10x magnification.
Very Slightly Included (VS1 and VS2): Diamonds in this range have small inclusions that are visible under 10x magnification but are typically not noticeable to the naked eye.
Slightly Included (SI1 and SI2): These diamonds have noticeable inclusions under 10x magnification, though SI2 diamonds may have more noticeable inclusions than SI1 diamonds.
Included (I1, I2, and I3): This category is used for diamonds with obvious inclusions visible to the naked eye.
Witty Diamonds offers you only diamonds graded VS2 or above, they appear flawless to the naked eye.
CARAT
Carat weight measures the size and mass of a diamond, with one carat equivalent to 200 milligrams. Larger carat diamonds are more visually prominent, though the perception of diamond size or prominence is influenced not only by carat weight but also by the diamond’s shape and the way it’s cut. Generally, certain diamond shapes tend to appear more prominent for the same carat weight due to their specific characteristics:
Round Brilliant Cut: Round diamonds are known for their exceptional brilliance and sparkle. They are cut to maximize light performance.
Oval Cut: Oval diamonds have an elongated shape, they can make fingers appear longer when worn as a ring, adding to their visual prominence.
Pear Cut: The unique shape of pear-shaped diamonds with a tapered point and rounded end can make them appear larger than their carat weight suggests.
Emerald Cut: Emerald-cut diamonds have a step-cut faceting pattern that emphasizes clarity over brilliance, their large open table can make them appear larger.
Princess Cut: Princess-cut diamonds have square shape with pointed corners. They offer a contemporary and bold appearance and can appear more prominent due to their square shape.
Asscher Cut: Asscher-cut diamonds are similar to emerald cuts but are square with cropped corners. They have a vintage and elegant look, and their square shape can give them a larger appearance.

Lab-grown Diamonds
Is it a real diamond, how is it different from natural diamond, and how can one tell
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds in every sense of the term, both chemically and structurally.
Lab-grown diamonds, also known as cultured diamonds, are created through a technological process that replicates the conditions under which natural diamonds form in the Earth’s mantle. They share the same hardness, brilliance, and other optical and physical properties as their mined counterparts. The primary difference between lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds lies in their origin and formation process, and this can only be differentiated with the help of gemological laboratory equipment.
Lab-grown diamonds have gained popularity for various reasons, including their ethical and environmental aspects, as well as the lower cost compared to mined diamonds. It is Witty Diamond’s mission to promote the awareness of such option, by offering you our lab-grown diamonds that rival the highest quality natural diamonds.
